Najva Sol & Molly Crabapple’s “Transmography” Lomography Gallery Show

I’ll be attending the San Francisco exhibition for “Transmography: Thirteen Fairytale Portraits of Queers Beyond the Gender Binary”, a gallery collaboration by Molly Crabapple and Najva Sol.

The last time I was in NYC, I had the pleasure of shooting with Najva and a lomo camera. Working in analogue is a rarity these days. There’s something so special about working with a photographer and knowing that there are only a precious, set number of exposures available.

To top it off, the project is a collaboration between Najva and the brilliant Molly Crabapple, who adds illustrated embellishment to the photographs. Together, Najva and Molly re-vision trans, genderqueer, and gender-fabulous people in a magical, surreal new world. I’ve seen a sneak preview of my image. There are tentacles and it is glorious. I’ll post the image after the exhibit opens. 🙂

Here’s details about the exhibit.
