Back at the CrashPad: Jiz Lee and Øthyr

Can you believe it’s been over TEN years since I last performed on CrashPad? It’s been so long I had to go back and double-check the date. 2015. Even harder to believe is that this scene marks my 21st year on this queer porn journey. So I guess you could say my return has been 20 years in the making!

A lot’s happened since the last time I appeared on the site. I entered my 40’s. I got gender-affirming top surgery. (In fact, this is the first studio scene I’ve shot with, sans breasts!)

Milestones aside, I’m truly honored to make my CrashPad comeback with long-time director Shine Louise Houston, as you may recall her debut film The Crash Pad in 2005 was also my first porno. It’s also a great time to return, as Shine has been exploring a new direction in gonzo, meta-narrative where she voices the Camera on a porn production. The result is something really different that I haven’t seen in adult right now. It’s self-aware porn that is not quite POV or cinéma vérité, but straddles adult niche genres and is equal parts silly, sexy, and funny.

The scene opportunity came a bit spontaneously and the timing couldn’t have been better. I’ve had a crush on Øthyr from Haus of KO (K-O stands for Kolipi and Øthyr) who I met at the BLUSH San Francisco PornFilmFestival. Haus of KO is a talented Bay Area production duo and their short film Flesh & Fire is beautiful, they’re both brilliant artists, and I really appreciate how I’ve heard them describe their work, intentions, and experiences. What better place to explore a crush than on a porn set? I had so much fun playing with Øthyr, in an environment that was safe and supportive. This scene featured many new ‘firsts’ for me, including what I can best describe as therapeutic fluid combination of our cum on my chest scars and… well. You’ll just have to watch the scene and our behind the scenes interview.

I am grateful for the trust, communication, and open energy of my costar Øthyr, for Shine’s beautiful camera work and easeful directing that makes CrashPad such a joyful place to work, for our crew Fisty’s follow focus helping us look so pretty, T. Crane’s photography capturing the heat, and Kriss’s excellent scene description making me feel even more seen in the scene. It’s a pleasure to perform in a film that looks as good as it felt.

As porn becomes more politicized, our bodies regulated and desires censored, I take pride in the act of expressing my sexuality, in exercising the freedom to create adult entertainment for myself and for others who might benefit from the validation and permission that comes in seeing ourselves reflected on the screen. We are all deserving of a happy and healthy sexuality.
