My last film, TRANSIT, co-starring Vanniall played with themes of an airline flight and hotel romp. This time, I’m taking a car ride through Berlin with Robin Astera. (First planes, and now automobiles? Anyone sensing a pattern! What transportation theme shall I try next? 😉 I joke, but then again…maybe!)

I’d been a fan of Robin’s films ever since watching I really want to get fucked, an intimate, beautifully vulnerable solo scene. So when they reached out to me about a fantasy of filming in a car, I jumped on the chance! I’m a fan of car sex, and loved it depicted in film like Car Service, 1980’s explicit safer sex PSA videos by Gay Mens Health Crisis. I also loved the challenge and also the symbolism of navigation, especially in bodies like our’s. 

The idea evolved into a beautiful and steamy collaboration with a few cameos of friends and femme performers: Carmina, Lina Bembe, Ember Fiéra, and Foxy Alex. I imagine this concept easily lending to a series where queer performers take rides in the lucky cab. (Fun fact, our off-camera driver was none other than our editor, Bex! She skillfully maneuvered the streets, and knocked the film edit out of the park!) Also, big shout out to Zachery Allan Starkey for the perfect soundtrack.

Videographer and photographer Rae Threat and I go back over a decade. I’ve known her skill as a photographer and also the ability to take on a gorilla-style approach to capturing shots on the street and semi-public. (Don’t worry, we were incredibly discreet. It’s actually a turn-off of mine and one of my boundaries involved in creating the film that do what we can to avoid someone seeing sex unexpectedly. While all the action takes place hands-in-pants — SO HOT — the majority of filming took place in a dark, secluded parking lot. It all comes together with movie magic.) 

Fortunately, the act of witnessing sex — consensually, and on a big screen — is exactly what adult film festivals are for! I’m very excited to join Robin and Rae to attend its German premiere at the PornFilmFestival Berlin. While adult performer-producers create and share videos all the time online, it’s a different experience to feel the energy with a theater audience. So if you get a chance to see it in a cinema please do! 

P.S. Maybe I should make my next film continue the travel theme. Perhaps a boat or a train?
